| Emporia High School Class of 1955 held their 45th Reunion in Emporia August 17-19, 2000. Of the graduating class of 168, almost 70 attended with 20 reported deceased. A BAR-B-QUE hosted by Bob & Elaine Kerr was held Friday night at their apple orchard, kicking off the activities. John Flott donated the meat for the event which was attended by over 50 people. A Saturday morning coffee hosted by the Reunion Committee was held at the Ramada Inn. A special guest was Dr. John Webb, former assistant principal and friend to many class mates. Class pictures were taken and will be posted on this web page thanks to Karon Dryer, Web Master. Golf was played in the afternoon by a select few and the dinner/dance was held Saturday night. Jim Karolik, former cheerleader, lead the festivities and Dr. Lynn Kindred, class president, spoke a few choice words. Wayne Williams presented the invocation and read off the deceased class members. Many, many memories were then presented, including a few words from all Class of '55 members. Elaborate plans are being made to celebrate the 50th year celebration in May, 2005 in Emporia. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
