Class of '53 Reunion & Other News.

The Emporia High School Class of 1953 held its 45th reunion

May 22 and 23 at the Emporia Country Club.

An informal get-together was held around the pool Friday evening
for registration and getting acquainted. Several classmates played golf
Saturday, and some renewed their memories of Emporia.

On Saturday evening a class picture was taken and the group had
dinner. The program was "Trivia of the Class of '53." According to a
participant, "the memory wasn't as good as they thought it would be."
Jack Mitchell and Harvey Harriman sang a duet, "Friends," in honor of the
21 classmates who have died.

Those in charge of the reunion were Mary Ann Law, Winky Bush and Norma Allen.

Classmates attending were: Don and Beverly Flott of Rochester,
Minnestoa; Neal and Barbara Porter of Seattle, Washington; Dallas and
Glenna McMunn of Hilltop Lakes, Texas; Marlene Errett Lassley of Tulsa,
Oklahoma; Judy Burt Anderson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Art and Sharon
Vernon Bloomer of Fairfax Station, Virginia; Sharon Kohlman Lord of
Hardwick, Georgia; Harvey Harriman of Gunnison, Colorado.

Phil Smith of Arvada, Colorado; Jim and Dorothy Bishop of DeKalb,
Illinois; Delores Langley and Don Gibson of Great Bend, Kansas; Jean
Davis and Kenton Whittington of Potwin, Kansas; Fred and Marge Jehle of
Lawrence, Kansas; Shirley Reber and Ed Graham of St. Louis, Missouri; Joe
Brown and Rosemary Brown of Gladstone, Missouri; Larry and Marion Burns
Thompson of St. Joseph, Missouri.

Standiferd and Dwight Bush, and Mary Ann Keating and Don Law.

A good time was enjoyed by everyone and the Class of '53 is
looking forward to their 50th in 2003.
